Roving Leasing Agent (part-time)
Pilot Property Management is a locally-owned company managing more than 1,100 apartment units in the greater Seattle area. We're looking for a part-time leasing agent to join us! Flexible schedule of 16-25 hours a week (must be available for at least three days/shifts per week, strong preference for Saturday availability). Training provided for the right candidate!

This position requires daily use of a personal vehicle. Our team is based out of offices near Fremont (Seattle), but Leasing Agents will travel between the office and properties each shift.
The Role
As the first point of contact for potential residents, Leasing Agents are the face of the company. Successful Leasing Agents are professional and provide high-level customer service for all residents and clients, consistent with our company values. We work collaboratively as a team to ensure positive resident experiences across the board, increase retention, and ultimately build our portfolio of properties.
A typical day includes advertising available apartments online, communicating with prospective residents, scheduling and conducting apartment tours, and coordinating apartment turns (maintenance and cleaning of upcoming available units after move-outs). Beyond leasing, this position is a critical part of the larger property management team, supporting a variety of projects on a regular basis. The part-time Leasing Agent will focus heavily on prospect follow-up and apartment tours.
Responsibilities and Duties
First and foremost, the Leasing Agent will provide prospective residents the absolute best application and move-in experience and provide existing residents with exceptional customer service. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Advertise and inspect available apartments
- Respond quickly and professionally to all inquiries
- Schedule and conduct tours with prospective residents
- Ensure leasing tours have highest probability of closing
- Maintain records of guest activities and keep availability updated
- Process rental applications & proactively follow-up with prospects
- Ensure apartments are ready for new residents prior to move-in date
- Respond promptly to service requests and schedule necessary work to be completed
- Maintain accurate and complete resident files in accordance with company policies
- Learn and follow Federal, State, and local fair housing laws (training is provided)
- Foster a safe & healthy work environment, including reporting unsafe conditions and following protocol to prevent accidents/injuries
- Assist Property Managers and Property Management Team with resident communication, renewals, posting notices, property inspections and access, vendor coordination, portfolio administration, and special projects
Qualifications and Skills
Prior leasing experience is strongly preferred. This is essentially a sales position, so if you like talking to people and have great communication skills, that's a fantastic start! Beyond that, you should have:
- Valid driver's license, automotive insurance, & access to reliable personal vehicle - only applicants who drive and have a vehicle can be considered
- Be able to make appointments on-time - this position requires daily travel between various property sites in the greater Seattle metropolitan area (mileage is reimbursed)
- Great communication skills - this role is all about conveying information and providing a positive experience for prospects - requires great verbal and written communication in English and strong organizational skills
- 1+ years customer service or related experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Computer literacy with ability to use email and scheduling software
- Must have a smart phone with data plan and be willing to download and use professional apps
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced job and situational changes
- Capacity to remain calm in intense situations
- Accept constructive criticism and give appropriate feedback
- Ability to understand and follow federal, state, and local fair housing laws
- Ideal candidates are self-motivated, good communicators, and adaptable
Compensation & Benefits
- $21-23.50/hour
- Up to $175 commission per new lease completed (Agents close an average of 8-10 leases/month)
- Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel

Additional Information
- This position will cover a portfolio of properties located throughout the greater Seattle metro area. Daily travel between locations is required.
- Schedule: this is a part-time position working at least three days/week, 16-25 hours. Saturday and weekday evening availability is preferred, as those are the most popular times for tours.
- Work Environment: Both onsite work in our Seattle office and in the field at managed properties is required. This position is roughly 30-40% in the office and 70-60% in the field (subject to change).
